Step 5:
Submit completed Form 6 - Application for Emission Control Equipment (if applicable)
Step 6:

Emission Control Equipment


This air quality standard permit to construct is required prior to installation and operation of any new, additional, or replacement air pollution control equipment for an EXISTING permitted process or equipment that emits air pollution. Applications for air pollution control equipment that will be used with a NEW process or equipment should be submitted with the specific application for the process or equipment to be permitted (e.g. Processing or Manufacturing Equipment, Fuel Burning Equipment, Incinerator, etc.)

Fuel Burning Equipment


This air quality permit to construct is required prior to installation and operation of any indirect fired, fuel burning equipment, such as a boiler, water heater, combustion turbine, or combined heat and power system that does not qualify for an Air Quality General Permit to Construct for small or medium fuel burning equipment and is not an emergency generator or internal combustion engine.

Portable Crushing/Screening Equipment at Temporary Sites


This air quality permit to construct is required prior to installation and operation of any portable crushing and/or screening equipment located at a temporary site that is used to process a finite amount of material already on site and generated by operations at the site. New material generated on site during the course of the permit period and any material generated off site are prohibited from being processed under this permit. Examples of operations that qualify for this permit include the processing of in-situ stone at a construction site or concrete waste at a concrete batch plant, the replacement of a runway at an airport, and the demolition of a building where the waste products are processed at the site. No crushing and/or screening equipment can relocate to the same site for at least three years after the expiration of this permit.

This air quality permit to construct is required prior to installation and operation of an emergency generator equipped with an engine rated at 500 brake horsepower or greater that does not qualify for an Air Quality General Permit to Construct for emergency generators.

This permit is not required for engines that serve as the primary source of power for agricultural or industrial equipment rated at less than 500 brake horsepower.
